NOTICE OF PROJECT PLAN PUBLIC HEARING

ELLIS & HARMONIA ROADS PUBLIC WATER EXTENSION PROJECT

Bedford Township, Calhoun County

 

TO ALL INTERESTED PERSONS IN BEDFORD TOWNSHIP:

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that Bedford Charter Township will hold a public hearing Wednesday the 1st day of May, 2024 at 6:00 PM in the Township Board meeting room at 115 S. Uldriks Dr. Battle Creek, MI 49037, to consider a Project Plan.  The purpose of the project is to provide safe drinking water to an area impacted by recently discovered PFAS contamination.  Project construction will involve placement of public water main and services along Ellis and Harmonia Roads. The impacts of the proposed project include monthly water fees to the properties along the route of the new water main, disruption of traffic along the route during construction, and temporary impacts to the environment during construction.  The estimated costs to the users of the proposed project are the current City of Battle Creek water billing rates for Bedford Township.  The estimated total project cost is $4.4 Million.  The Township intends to finance the project through the Drinking Water Revolving Fund program.

 

Copies of the plan detailing the proposed project are available for inspection at the Bedford Township Office.

 

Written comments received before the hearing record is closed on May 8, 2024 will receive responses in the final Project Plan.  Written comments should be sent to:
